Test Shot Starfish’s self-titled debut full-length is one that mixes ambient electronica with more beat-oriented music to fine effect. It’s by no means a brilliant album, but it’s an enjoyable ride, even if it does get a little too close to house music on occasion. The music can occasionally be a little schizophrenic (“B Plan”), but even the less cohesive tracks are pleasant listens. It’s a pretty mellow album in general, and is great for late-night listening.
